With the larger scale pieces, I try to focus the attention of the audience inward from the outside, to the centre of the piece - even if the centre is not present. It is possible with the sculptural/outdoor pieces that they blend in with their surroundings as one - as each one needs the other to compliment. This means that my canvas for working does not necessarily need a frame but it does rely on the surrounding habitat to support the piece. So the canvas stretches beyond into infinity and the piece and habitat become one.
