Wood Turning and Wood Sculpture
Wood turning and wood sculpture design by the artist Belle Walker have both natural beauty combined with original contemporary design.
The wood used by Belle in these designs is from eco-friendly sources. Most of the wood is native (such as Ash, Oak, Acacia) felled naturally and by reputable wood surgeons. On outdoor projects hardwoods are used.
The smaller wood turned pieces are both functional, as well as objects of beauty. They can be turned to any size required. These original turned pieces of wood, signed by the maker can be placed in any home, gallery, or outside setting to suit your choice.
The larger wood turnings and sculptural forms are more likely to be suited for corporate clients or community based projects. These are then installed inside or outside, dependant upon the nature of the commission.
All wood commissions undertaken are custom made by the artist herself. Where necessary wood stains, carving or scorching may be added. A wood sealant is then applied to give a beautiful finish.
In an ever changing environment it is essential to preserve the rich textures and colours colours found in wood. Belle would like to think that her wood designs are giving a second life to the tree and by capturing its natural beauty and formation, and giving joy to the eye of the beholder.
